The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I haven’t finished this, I am unlikely to either, but I am just going to put this review down anyway.
Right now, it’s mince. To use such a Scottish term, or Glaswegian term.
The blurb makes you think its all about a boy and a girl and a circus, although there is a lovely magical quality to it that is really cool and adds some unique flare to the tale, it goes all over the place, it’s not just about the boy and the girl but also these additional characters as well who come along and just confuse you because they don’t seem to have any reason to be there. The focus isn’t on the two people who should be the main characters, but also the people around them, who probably have some kind of plot device in them but you are left wondering about the main characters, you are just left with rather dull characters who are the important part of the whole story.
I really fail to understand why and how this book is so popular, it’s rather dull and just doesn’t grip me, I like my books to be ‘I-must-not-put-down’ type of reads instead of ‘Let-me-find-another-book’.
