Ben is a former SAS soldier who works as a tracker of sorts – he finds children who have been kidnapped and held to ransom. He’s good at his job, so good that it’s word of mouth that gets him his business.
However his biggest challenge comes from an old man, who wants him to get an ancient elixir of life to save the life of his grand-daughter.
Ben finds himself on little to go on, until he arrives in France, where everything begins to fall before him and where people are after him, trying to prevent him from getting the secret alchemist elixir. Not to mention the police are after him and he now has to protect a scientist as well.
The general story is similar to The Da Vinci Code, the mystery and the adventure is closely linked as well as the ancient group of alchemists.
While it was a good read, there was something not completely there, Ben was a good character, his background made him believable, his reactions were true to form, it was the other character’s around him that made the whole thing seem a bit untrue and lacking in life.
On the whole though it’s a good one to read if you enjoy the mystery action aspect of reading, this one will certainly have you on the edge of your seat.
