Sienna is a teenage girl who has lived her whole life inside her home, her mother never let her outside and one of the rules was that Sienna was never to speak about the outside world. However Sienna finds herself in a situation, with her mother having gone for over a week, she is on her own, in a world that she could only dream of and being chased by two men for reasons she does not know. All shee wants to do is to find her mother, but instead she learns that she is something completely different, that her training wasn’t just unusual but it was also preparing her. However Sienna needs to figure out exactly what is going on and who to trust, but it’s hard to do considering she hasn’t had any human contact in so long.
The book was interesting to read and I enjoyed it. There was no love triangles, no romance at all in fact – which is really nice to see – the action there was nicely done and the character’s were whole, nothing missed out about them. My one grip about this book is Reed, a character that we only really see 3 times in this book, first was at the start, next was in a dream and finally at the climax of the book. Reed appears to only be added in to make Sienna wonder who she should trust – however it just annoy’s the reader, since we know literally nothing about him, we are kept in the dark completely.
Reed doesn’t take away from the book, since a lot of things Sienna needs to get used to quickly, she hasn’t been to the outside world, she isn’t used to all the things that is going on and the author has written it as well as he could.
On the whole, it’s nicely done, though it does leave the reader wondering – what does Sienna want now?
