Zill is just a normal girl in her last year of high school and is getting ready to go out and head to college and yet something strange happens, something that shakes her foundations and makes her wonder about what she is.
The story is short, personally I felt there was no point in making it that short, the reader gets no answers to any questions until near the end and even then the answers aren’t really explains in any detail at all.
Is this a good book?
Yes it is.
Should it be longer?
Zill sounds like she should be a really good character, she should be interesting and the reader should like how she’s very much a kick-ass girl, but I found that it floundered, it got her into a triangle between two guy’s and it just… it didn’t work. I liked the almost sexual relations Zill had with the vampire but the whole triangle just didn’t cut it for me, it felt a bit too out of place considering Derek wasn’t a human but a Wek and from what I understood from the book is that a Wek doesn’t really have certain emotions, they replicate the human’s around them to make them seem normal.
The book didn’t hook me either, so i don’t really want to go out and buy the other books to see what is going on, because there was nothing to make me be hooked onto it. A love triangle? Really? In every single YA book that I have read it’s always been some kind of love triangle, could we leave the triangle out?
It’s a good read, passes the time, but I wouldn’t bother to read the rest of the series.
