Superdrug Chocolate Orange Self-Heating Mask is probably one of the cheapest face masks that you can get anywhere; 99p for this packet. Which is pretty good when you think that you can get a few masks out of this due to how much product is left in the packet; so long as you can seal it properly.
Opening the packet, it smells so good. Think Terry’s Chocolate Orange and you have the scent of this mask; with dark chocolate and tangy orange it is meant to moisturise and nourish your skin. The mask it’s self is really runny, like melted chocolate that you know is going to drip off your face in time. It was annoying, as after I had the mask on it had begun to drip, onto my eyes and down my neck, however it goes on warm right when you apply it to your skin, it wasn’t burning just lovely and warm, given the weather over here in Scotland, the warmth was exactly what my skin appreciated.
You are supposed to have this mask on for 10 to 15 minutes max, I really wanted it off after 5 minutes, because of the dripping, but managed to hold off for another 5 minutes before washing it off.
It was messy to wash off; but it’s that kind of mask and easy enough to wash off. However it did nothing for my skin, it was meant to purify and brighten the skin, but I felt no difference to my skin.
The good thing about this mask, apart from smelling like chocolate? It’s vegetarian approved and BUAV approved too.
It’s not a mask that I would buy again, but it was a good one to try if you have wanted to try a self-heating mask, but you don’t want to try the more spicy one – which I will probably try later, because it sounds nice.
